We Are The Baseliners!
The Baseliners are the tournament team division of the Lower Loudoun Girls Softball League in Sterling, Virginia. The Baseliners Softball System includes 5 age-based teams, each with its own coaching staff and team website. Our girls are extremely dedicated to the game of fastpitch softball and the team records truly speak for themselves.
Players are selected for the year by way of open tryouts in the Fall. The individual teams play in various tournaments and house leagues during the Fall season. Following a break for the holidays, the teams regroup in January to begin preparing for the rigorous Spring/Summer travel season. Some teams will pick up additional players during the Winter months. If you are interested in finding out more, please visit the individual team websites whose links appear to the right.
The Baseliner system trains and encourages each player to compete at the highest levels by providing strong coaching, a supportive environment, and a focus on good sportsmanship. Our coaches have a wealth of experience in amateur and professional athletics, several of whom either played on and/or managed high school and college-level teams.
LLGSL Student Athlete Scholarship Program!
The LLGSL Student Athlete Scholarship Program provides partial college scholarships to deserving young women who have demonstrated sportsmanship, citizenship, and commitment to the game of softball. Additionally, a demonstration of strong academic success with a minimum GPA of 3.0 will be required. The scholarships that will be awarded this year will be used at an accredited college, university, or vocational institution and help offset direct costs such as tuition, books, room and board. The scholarships will be awarded in June. Please complete and submit the application form no later than May 30, 2011. If you have any questions please send an email to Phil Gleason (president@llgsl.com)Click here to download the application form (PDF format)
