Baseliners96 Participate in Holiday Coalition Program
This year, the Baseliners96 are proud to participate in Loudoun County’s Holiday Coalition Program. This Program provides under-privileged kids with Holiday Stockings stuffed with small gifts and essential items. The Baseliners96 are grateful for the opportunity to help families within our community during the Holiday Season. USSSA Fall Challenge (Nov 7-8) 2nd Place!
Sterling, VA
The Baseliners96 concluded the Fall 2009 season with a 2nd Place finish at the USSSA Fall Challenge tournament in Sterling, Virginia. After knocking the rust off on Saturday, and continuing to improve as Sunday’s games went on, the Baseliners had a thrilling come-from-behind victory, including ITB to propel us into the Championship game. In the Championship, a victory over Glory Diamond Elite forced an “IF” game, but the team fell short in the final game. We congratulate Glory Diamond Elite for their hard-fought victory.
Looking back on the Fall season as a whole, the team earned one 1st Place trophy, one 2nd Place trophy, and a berth to the USSSA World Series. These achievements symbolize what you are able to accomplish with your talent, dedication, and hard work, but the greatest thing that the team earned this Fall season is confidence in yourselves and one another.
As players, you have gained confidence through your success on the field. As coaches, we are proud of your achievements, but we are more encouraged by how you have responded to adversity and challenges throughout the season. Everyone wants to forget the bumps and bruises, the errors and the losses, but how you respond to those things defines the character of an individual and of the team. How you have responded to the adversity and the challenges this Fall shows not only who we are now, but who we strive to become in the future.
The mark of a true champion is playing hard and playing fair…always. Don’t be satisfied with giving anything but your very best, and expect your teammates (and opponents) to do the same. We are excited for the Spring/Summer 2010 season.

USSSA BRYC Fall Classic (Oct 10-11) CHAMPIONS!
Annandale, VA
The Baseliners96 team has shown steady improvement, and has competed well against some of the best 14U teams in the region this Fall. The players’ hard work and extra effort resulted in a perfect 6-0 record this weekend, capturing the first annual BRYC Fall Classic tournament. This is the team’s first championship of the 2009-2010 season, and earned the team a berth to the 2010 USSSA World Series. Congratulations!
The team outscored its opponents by a combined score of 42-16. When the team was tested, solid pitching, tough defense, and timely hitting paved the way in accomplishing the mission at hand. Without question, each player made significant contributions to the team’s success.
We wish to thank BRYC for providing an outstanding tournament, and we congratulate the West Virginia Shockers players and coaches for their runner-up finish in the tournament, including a very hard-fought championship game.
Great job this weekend, Baseliners! Enjoy this victory, learn from the experience, and continue to bring your best effort each game. The Baseliners96 have a weekend off to train for, and prepare to host, the Halloween Classic in Sterling on October 24-25th.
